Chromium Browsers in Windows

Overview

This document outlines the steps to deploy the Swift Security browser extension for Google Chrome on Windows devices using Microsoft Intune.

Extension Details

  • Extension ID: caagpeigabceamfbclichjenfkcnekha

  • Installation URL: https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx

Deployment Steps

For Google Chrome

  1. Access Microsoft Intune Admin Center:

    • Navigate to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.

  2. Configure Windows Enrollment:

    • Select Devices > Windows.

    • Click on Windows Enrollment > Automatic Enrollment.

    • Ensure that all options are selected and click Save.

  3. Create a Configuration Profile:

    • Go to Configuration Profiles > Create Policy.

    • Choose:

      • Platform: Windows 10 and later

      • Profile Type: Settings Catalog

    • Click Create.

  4. Configure Basic Settings:

    • In the Basics tab, enter a name and description for the profile, then click Next.

  5. Add Configuration Settings:

    • In the Configuration settings tab, click Add settings.

    • Search for Extension and select Google Chrome Extension.

    • In the "Extensions" subcategory select Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions.

    • Configure the following:

      • Force-installed apps and extensions: Enable and add the extension ID: caagpeigabceamfbclichjenfkcnekha Or

        caagpeigabceamfbclichjenfkcnekha;https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx

    • Search Guest Mode: Select Google Chrome and set guest mode to disabled.

    • Search Incognito Mode: Select Google Chrome and set Incognito mode availability to disabled.

  6. Assign the Profile:

    • In the Assignments tab, assign the profile to the appropriate user or device group. Preview the settings and click Save.
